Our School
A little History
West Street was built in 1907 originally providing education right through to 15 years of age. It now houses a Nursery that takes children from 3 years old for up to 15 hours per week, Reception class (4-5 year olds), Key Stage 1 classes (5-7year olds) and Key Stage 2 classes (7-11 years old).
Due to the type of buildings we have we are lucky to have accommodation that is light and bright with classrooms that are large, attractive and stimulating, making it a pleasant environment for children. Alongside our classrooms we have an ICT suite, an art room, a library, two halls and a parents’ room. The space continues outside where we have 3 large playgrounds, a grassed area with a trim trail and a separate outdoor area for foundation children.
We also have a nurture group which is run by a qualified learning mentor. Children who would benefit from small group sessions can access this facility.
We pride ourselves on being a family orientated school where everyone knows everyone and we all treat each other with respect.
