West Street Community Primary School and Nursery

Homework

Each week on a Friday, pupils in Year 3 are given a home learning task which is usually based on the learning in class that week. It is extremely important that all children complete this and hand it in on the following Thursday. If children are struggling they can come and complete thier homework at playtime on Tuesday or Wednesday with a member of staff. Also spare homework is avilable if homework is lost.

Reading is a very important part of homework and children are expected to read at least three times per week at home. Children should read as much as possible, both their school reading books, but also newspapers, magazines, recipes, websites and much more. All of these elements will be assessed and recorded weekly and they allow children the opportunity to work towards their Home Reading Challenge.
