Spring has sprung in Reception
Date: 30th Jun 2022 @ 4:47pm
Spring has sprung in our new topic ‘New Life’. It has been very exciting exploring the season ,Spring ,and watching our world as it changes over the weeks.
We have noticed the weather is becoming warmer, the days are lighter and longer, there is a lot more colour around us and new life is being created.
We had a little Lamb called ‘Larry’ who came to visit, it made us laugh when he made a very loud ‘BAAA’ noise and had a wee on the carpet. The farmer told us that he needed to have bottles to get all the nutrients he needs as he wasn’t yet mature enough to graze on the grass and hay.
Miss Deen came to visit us with her twin nephews, the children did a fantastic job of entertaining the babies as they sang songs and did some clapping. We asked the babies’ mummy questions to get to know how to care for the babies and how we can help them grow.
The children have enjoyed the topic related activities both in and out of the classroom and have been working very hard, exploring, drawing, writing and labelling daffodils, blossom and things needed for planting. We enjoyed sounding the story of the week ‘Jaspers Beanstalk’ with actions. The children have enjoyed planting and finding mini beasts, creating new homes for them and caring for them.
Music lesson was super fun, taken outside as we used our instruments as we followed the story – Jack and the beanstalk. We played some listening games with our instruments, showing good listening skills.
