School Trip, Bolton Abbey, Reception Class

On Wednedsay Reception Class went to Bolton Abbey for their school trip.

We had an amazing day! The coach came to collect us at 9am and we arrived at Bolton Abbey and met 2 forest school leaders. First, we explored the church, The Priory and the ruins. We investigated the stain glass windows and then decided to create our windows using material and then used natural leaves and petals to make the colours. Our next workshop, we used the natural objects to explore number and make our own creations. Come and have a look at our photos! What do you see?

Lastly, we had some time to explore the Bolton Abbey grounds. We picked a leaf and tested how fast this travelled in the water, threw stones in the water varying in size and examined the spalshes, made observational drawings of the Church and lots of other exciting things. We can't wait to visit again!
