This week we have carried on with our healthy lifestyle theme. We enjoyed role playing in the healthy eating café, taking orders and serving food to our friends. We also spoke about the importance of exercise and keeping fit. We have been doing our wake and shake to workouts lead by Spiderman which also helps us practice our counting! Check out the video on YouTube, count and exercise with Spiderman its one of our favourites! The children have also been developing their physical skills on the obstacle course that we set up together in the playground. Balancing across the beams and crawling through the tunnel, they have also been helping each other across if some are a little unsteady which is great to see.
On Monday we read the story Mr Wolves Pancakes. We discussed how it is kind to help other unlike Mr Wolves neighbours in the book! We then refreshed our memories and spoke about rules in nursery and what is acceptable behaviour; this included kind hands, kind feet, listening ears, sharing is caring etc.
On Tuesday at group time we all helped to make pancakes. They remembered the 3 ingredients that we needed from the story the day before. The all had a go at whisking the ingredients and then we sat down together to eat them, they was delicious!
Friday we celebrated World Book Day. We had some wonderful characters in nursery from Goldilocks to Woody and we even had a doughnut! (who was Norman the Slug!) The children loved sharing their favourite stories in the reading dens that we made and it was a lovely day to end a busy week!
