Nursery News - 20/01/2023

This week we have enjoyed the stories Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. 

In the creative area we have painted pictures of 3 bears and we made a Little Red Riding Hood collage. 

The children have loved dressing up in the role play area as the different characters from the stories. The have used puppets to retell the stories and are now familiar with the tales and key phrases.

The children enjoyed getting messy in the porridge oats. We added a little bit of milk (white paint) to create different consistencies of porridge. We also taste tested some porridge and we voted for our favourite flavour.

This week we have also been learning about Chinese New Year and this year it is the 'Year of the Rabbit.' We made Chinese lanterns using red and orange cellophane. Today we did some Chinese Yoga on the carpet, bending and stretching and trying to hold a pose. We also sampled some yummy Chinese food!
