We have had another busy week in nursery. Our new little ones are settling in well and the older children are getting ready for reception. Some have been enjoying the responsibility of looking after the little ones, helping them with our daily routine and setting a great example.
This week we had a special delivery, 5 teeny tiny caterpillars. We have also enjoyed the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The children joined in with the key phrases and have enjoyed looking at the book and retelling it to their friends. We have been learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly and we have learnt a new song to help us remember. (There's a tiny caterpillar on a leaf)
In the craft area we have made caterpillars using paint and bobbin wheels. We tried to recreate patterns using two colours red and green. We also made bird feeders and hung them outside to attract all the different birds.
We have also now got 5 tadpoles in EYFS that we are going to watch and care for over the next few weeks. The children are very excited to see our creatures grow and change.
